An attractive wildflower with bright pink star-shaped blooms, each petal deeply notched to create a raggedy appearance. The striking flowers of this hardy perennial appear in late spring and early summer and are loved by butterflies and other beneficial insects. Teasel

Dipsacus fullonum, Dipsacus sylvestris, Wildflower
A tall, striking native biennial, known for its large prickly seed heads which persist well into winter on roadside verges, waste ground and field edges. The lilac-pink conical flower heads are borne above serrated leaves in mid to late summer, attracting lots of bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects. The seed heads are also a good source of food for birds. Teasels are an excellent architectural plant for the back of garden borders or in wildlife gardens where they will self-seed freely for a continual display. Dried teasel flowers also make an attractive and textural addition to cut flower arrangements. Height: 1.5m (5’). Spread: 45cm (18"). More info
