Also known as herbaceous plants, perennial plants live for 2 or more years and flower every year. Biennial plants live for up to 2 years, flowering profusely in their second year before setting seed and dying. These low growing, bushy mimulus plants produce masses of tubular blooms, looking much like exotic, wide snapdragon flowers. Although monkey flowers are tender perennials, they are best treated as an annual for beds, containers and baskets, except in the mildest parts of the country. Mimulus ‘Magic Rainbow’ is ideal to add a bright splash of summer colour from June to August in lightly shaded, moist beds in the garden. Height and spread: 30cm (12”). More info
