Pot up Vinca plug plants and grow them on in frost free conditions. When Periwinkle plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions for a period of 7 to 10 days. Transplant Vinca major plants into borders outdoors in any moist, well drained soil. Periwinkle is a particularly tough plant, and will thrive in any garden position, provided that the soil isn’t dry.
Feed and water Vinca plants regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Once established Vinca major plants require only occasional attention. Pruning Periwinkle is best undertaken in spring when they can be cut back hard to restrict their growth. Caution: harmful if eaten.
