Nepeta 'Patchwork Mixed' (Garden Ready)

Catmint

Hardy Perennial

  • The fast-track to a hassle-free garden - just plant, water and enjoy!
  • Quality plants delivered to your door, hardened off and ready to plant out
  • Fully-grown, super-robust, healthy plants
Our garden ready plants are selected for garden performance, straight from the nursery. We send them to you 'green' ahead of flowering (but please note some varieties may show a few blooms), which means plants will establish quickly and all their energy goes into producing better roots, so they produce more flowers throughout the season.

A new twist on a classic cottage garden plant! Nepeta 'Patchwork Mixed' has neat, compact growth that makes it perfect for summer bedding and patio pots. Catmint is well loved by gardeners and their cats for its sweet, pungent aroma and hazy pink and blue flowers. This hardy little perennial has a loose, relaxed habit that makes it perfect for creating soft, informal displays. Height and spread: 40cm (16").

Culinary note: The strong, minty/spicy flavoured flowers can be used sparingly in pasta or rice dishes. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Pot up Nepeta plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Grow Catmint plants outdoors in any well drained garden soil in full sun or semi shade.
Water regularly until Catmint plants are fully established. Cut back individual flower stems as they fade to encourage a second flush of Catmint flowers to be produced. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Nepeta plants in spring.

  1. Small, did not want to grow.

    By Victoria Mainprize 13-06-2015

They were very small plugs, I potted them on in the greenhouse, but they were very slow to grow. After much loving care and gentle nurturing they have mostly survived but wether they will flower this year remains to be seen
