Pot up meconopsis plants into peaty compost and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions with protection from strong, direct sunlight. When they are well grown, acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, prior to planting out in their final positions. Choose a sheltered spot in semi or dappled shade - a cool, moist woodland situation is ideal, but the Himalayan poppy will also thrive in a moist, shaded border. Meconopsis prefers a rich, moist, neutral to acid, well drained soil that remains moist throughout summer, but does not sit wet in winter.
Meconopsis poppies particularly dislike dry soils and excessive heat. Water regularly during hot, dry periods to prevent the soil from drying out. In spring, apply a mulch of chipped bark, leaf mould or other organic matter around the crown of the plant. Deadhead faded blue meconopsis flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.

I have had quite a lot of plants from T&M and found the customer services, once you can get through, extremely helpful. Ordered two plug plants. When they arrived one looked the job, nice and healthy but the other was loose in it's plug and obviously very sickly. I emailed T&M rather than face the difficulties of phoning and received a nice email back. As they were now out of stock I elected to have a refund rather than wait until next March. The other plant is now looking sad but fingers crossed it will pick up. Not sure. I have no complaints with T&M's customer services but wish I hadn't spent money on plug plants and instead bought a mature specimen from a garden centre even though I would have had to pay a bit more.

First plants arrived and died within a week or so despite my coddling them and potting them and loving them.
Complained and they were quickly replaced, put this one straight out as it was June.
Not dead, but only tiny amount of growth. Am making sure I keep it watered and protected from pests. Am hoping it will come back next year but honestly it is so small I do not imagine this will happen. We shall see...
