Description
Claret red veins pattern the pink foliage of Heuchera 'Berry Smoothie', which slowly ages to a deep burgundy by autumn. This new introduction is another eye-catching variety of this popular evergreen perennial. The creamy white flowers add extra interest in summer and prove particularly attractive to pollinating insects. A lovely choice for providing year round interest in patio containers and borders. Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Culinary note: The leaves can be tossed in with other greens for a mixed salad, typically too bitter to eat on their own, they will add a tangy kick to an otherwise bland salad. For more details about edible flowers click here.

How to Grow
Heuchera plants dislike soils which are particularly dry or have a tendency to waterlogging. Plant them in moist, fertile, well drained soil, adding plenty of compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun or semi shade.

Feed and water coral flower plants regularly until they are fully established.Apply a mulch of well rotted manure around the crown of each plant each spring. Lift and divide clumps of heuchera plants every 3 years in autumn to maintain vigorous, healthy growth.
