Compact and easy-to-grow, this Geum is a fantastic addition to the front of perennial borders where it will produce a prolific and reliable display every year. Height: 45cm (18"). Pot up geum plants and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions until large enough to be transplanted outdoors. Once well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Geums dislike soils which are prone to waterlogging in winter. Plant them in moist, fertile, well drained soil, adding plenty of compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun.
Water Avens plants regularly until fully established. Regular deadheading will encourage more flowers to be produced throughout the summer. In spring, lift and divide overcrowded clumps of geum to maintain their vigour.
