Busy Lizzie 'Accent Mixed' (Garden Ready)

Impatiens walleriana

Half-hardy Annual

  • The fast-track to a hassle-free garden - just plant, water and enjoy!
  • Quality plants delivered to your door, hardened off and ready to plant out
  • Fully-grown, super-robust, healthy plants
Our garden ready plants are selected for garden performance, straight from the nursery. We send them to you 'green' ahead of flowering (but please note some varieties may show a few blooms), which means plants will establish quickly and all their energy goes into producing better roots, so they produce more flowers throughout the season.

Vigorous, versatile and floriferous, Busy Lizzies are guaranteed to brighten up even the most shaded areas of your garden, giving a bold splash of colour all through the summer and well into autumn. It's little wonder they're the nation's favourite bedding plant. They keep blooming through sun or rain! Busy Lizzie 'Accent Mixed' is a compact variety with a magical array of colours in solid shades and bicolours. Back at long last - we removed traditional Busy Lizzies (Impatiens walleriana) from our range several years ago due to the spread of impatiens downy mildew in the UK. Positive reports from gardeners around the UK, along with problem-free results from our technical trials in Suffolk in the past two years, have given us the confidence to bring traditional Busy Lizzies back. Height and spread: 30cm (12").

Culinary note: Use as a colourful garnish in salads or float in cold drinks. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Plug plants can be planted directly into flower pouches. For baskets, beds and window boxes, pot up plugs and miniplugs for transplanting at a later date. Grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions, watering sparingly until plugs are fully rooted in. When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise busy lizzie plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, prior to planting in their final positions.
Grow busy lizzies in any well drained soil, in sun or semi shade. Feed and water frequently throughout the summer to promote an endless supply of colourful busy lizzie flowers.
