Begonia plugs can be planted straight into flower pouches but are best potted on first and grown on in bright, frost-free conditions if they are to be displayed in baskets, window boxes, pots and beds. Begonia plants can be transplanted into their final containers once they have increased in size. When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise begonia plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before placing them in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from strong winds.
Feed and water Begonia plants frequently throughout the growing season taking care not to over-water, as this will cause new flower buds to drop. Deadhead faded begonia flowers regularly to extend the flowering period and encourage more blooms to be produced.

  1. Shameful

    By Christine Milne 30-05-2014

I am so annoyed about this delivery. Out of 9 plants only 1 has survived. When they arrived it was obvious that they were in a very poor state when they were dispatched. I managed to pot up 3 but it was clear that 2 would not survive. The others were all dead. I have complained to T and M but their response has been less than satisfactory. I originally placed 5 orders and all orders contained dead plants, this was the worst. T and M, you need to do better.
