Annual Plants
Annual plants fall under two categories - hardy and half-hardy. Hardy annuals can be grown outdoors and will tolerate cooler tempratures, whereas the more tender half-hardy annuals need protection and must not be planted out until all risk of frost has passed. These delightful summer flowers add colour and interest to beds, borders, containers and hanging baskets. Use the selections in the left menu to select the right plants for your garden.

Lobelia erinus 'Ultra Cascade Mixed' (Garden-Ready) An opulent mix of old varieties and new, that gives you the best of both worlds - and longer-lasting displays. Older varieties in the mix flower early and fade, whilst the newer varieties last longer, so mixed together you'll have a full season of stunning lobelia colour. Lobelia ‘Ultra Cascade’ Mixed makes a sparkling addition to containers, flower pouches™ and window-boxes. Trailing lobelia is an easy to grow annual that is deservedly popular for its versatility and long flowering period. Trails to: 45cm (18”). Spread: 15cm (6”).
 Michael Perry Advice"Our 'garden-ready' plant range is a much larger plug plant than usual and, if the weather allows, can be planted directly into their final containers and into beds and borders from the end of May. Please keep an eye on the weather forecast though, and never plant outside if a frost is forecasted. If you have planted and then news of frost comes, then make sure you cover plants with fleece or some old net curtains temporarily." |
