Annual Plants

Annual plants fall under two categories - hardy and half-hardy. Hardy annuals can be grown outdoors and will tolerate cooler tempratures, whereas the more tender half-hardy annuals need protection and must not be planted out until all risk of frost has passed. These delightful summer flowers add colour and interest to beds, borders, containers and hanging baskets. Use the selections in the left menu to select the right plants for your garden.

 Customer Rating
  • Best in class for super busy lizzies
  • Customer favourite
  • Tolerant to downy mildew problems

'Wow' is the only word to describe the impact from this brand new, sun-loving Busy Lizzie plant which is a hybrid between New Guinea Impatiens and a wild type. Cerinthe major 'Purpurascens' - Part of the Alan Titchmarsh Collection

Honeywort

 Customer Rating
This unusual little plant is one of my garden favourites; and you can always track it down in the garden by listening for the sound of buzzing bees. It's easy to grow too; at home in most soils and producing sprays of electric-blue, metallic blooms, which ‘drip’ with purple florets. Cerinthe major ‘Purpurascens’ is a real stunner. And if you want to impress your neighbours, this will certainly give them something to talk about. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 30cm (12").
