Pot up snapdragon plants using free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. Pinch out growing tips while the plants are still small to encourage bushier growth. Once they are well grown, acclimatise antirrhinum plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting outdoors on fertile, free draining soil in a sheltered, sunny position. Antirrhinums particularly dislike wet ground, so improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand prior to planting.
Feed and water regularly until snapdragons are fully established. Deadhead faded antirrhinum flowers frequently throughout summer to encourage more blooms to be produced.

  1. DOA

    By Norman Higgins 15-05-2014

First batch of 72 plug plants arrived in very poor condition. Re-potted immediately, 21 survived. Customer service was very helpful in sending another batch of 75. Again, arrived in poor condition. This time 28 survived. Think I'll be sticking to seeds from now on.

  2. Great plants

    By Paul Gough 19-08-2012

The plug plants came beginning of May, potted up singly into pots and grew them on, I pinched them out to encourage them to bush up. Once put in the garden were soon flowering and have been flowering now for over 2 months just getting better and better. Also slugs don't touch them. Great plants.
