Antirrhinum 'Autumn Dragons Mixed' (Garden Ready)

Snapdragon

Half-hardy Annual

  • The fast-track to a hassle-free garden - just plant, water and enjoy!
  • Quality plants delivered to your door, hardened off and ready to plant out
  • Fully-grown, super-robust, healthy plants
Our garden ready plants are selected for garden performance, straight from the nursery. We send them to you 'green' ahead of flowering (but please note some varieties may show a few blooms), which means plants will establish quickly and all their energy goes into producing better roots, so they produce more flowers throughout the season.

We've timed the production of our garden ready Snapdragons to ensure dazzling summer colour in your garden right through autumn. As other summer performers start to fade at the end of the season, the classic colour collection of Antirrhinum 'Autumn Dragons Mixed' will take over, shining forth from September right into November. Not only will you get a strong flash of welcome late season colour, this cheery mix also offers an unusual bubblegum fragrance. Sturdy branching around the main stem ensures a constant supply of flower spikes, making 'Autumn Dragons Mixed' the perfect option for late season home cut flowers. Set this autumn flowering antirrhinum in beds and borders or add to patio pots for a bright and breezy late season display. Height and spread: 60cm (24"). Spread:15cm (6").

Culinary note: These pretty flowers can be used as garnishes or dressings but can have a bland or sometimes bitter taste. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Gradually acclimatise antirrhinum plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting outdoors on fertile, free draining soil in a sheltered, sunny position. Antirrhinums particularly dislike wet ground, so improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand prior to planting.
Feed and water regularly until snapdragons are fully established. Flower stems may require some support from twiggy sticks or canes as they grow. Deadhead faded snapdragon flowers frequently throughout summer to encourage more blooms to be produced.

These plants arrived in good condition, looking ready to thrive when planted out. They had lots of green leaves and good root systems - can't wait to see them in flower!
