August, September, October
Position:
full sun
    • 50 gladiolus bulbs

    •
    • Despatch: By end of February 2017
    • £9.99
Plant gladioli in groups at 14-day intervals to extend their flowering season, and enjoy their fabulous blooms all summer long. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 15cm (6").
In autumn, allow the foliage to die back naturally before lifting the corms and cleaning them of soil and any remaining stems. Dry them in a well ventilated position for 2 weeks before storing them in a frost-free location for the winter. When growing gladioli in mild areas with particularly well drained soil, it may not be necessary to lift the corms. Apply a dry mulch of bark chips or leaf mould in autumn to protect the corms from cold, wet weather.

Reviews
  1. Don't buy

    By Anna Johnson 28-10-2014

Thompson and Morgan should really not be selling these are regular garden plants for the UK. After planting lots myself I have not had a single flower all year, after giving constant, careful attention. Reading up online I now see that this is generally the case in the UK as these are essentially tropical plants that need high temperatures and strong sun to grow. They may succeed in a greenhouse but trying to grow them outside, even in the sunniest of spots, is generally a lost cause. Buying them on this site was a total waste of money. I am not impressed with the company.
