Crocus Bulbs


After a long and cold winter, crocus flowers are a welcome sight and a sign that spring is truly on its way. Plant the bulbs in the autumn either in borders, beds and containers or naturalised in grass. Some varieties will even flower in the autumn if you plant them early enough!

Crocus 'Yellow Mammoth'

Crocus x luteus 'Golden Yellow'

Large, golden yellow goblet blooms herald the arrival of spring. This RHS AGM variety is robust and strong growing - perfect for planting in rockeries, naturalising in grass, or growing in large groups beneath trees and shrubs for an explosion of bright colour in the spring. Alternatively grow Crocus 'Yellow Mammoth' in containers and window boxes where they can be appreciated up close. The flowers are also a great source of early nectar and pollen for bees. Bulb size 6/7. Height: 10cm (4"). Spread: 5cm (2").

Crocus 'Ruby Giant'

A superbly weather resistant variety which can be easily naturalised in grass. Crocus 'Ruby Giant' is an early cultivar blooming from as early as February. A fabulous display of purple flowers rise above slender, strap-like foliage. The large blooms are supported on sturdy stems, ensuring that they remain upright throughout the flowering period. Like all crocus, this variety will provide valuable nectar for pollinating insects in early spring. Bulb size 5/7. Height: 10cm (4"). Spread: 5cm (2").

Crocus 'Flower Record'

Large, voluptuous goblets of deepest purple adorn this popular crocus in early spring. Perfect for planting in rockeries, borders, or growing in large groups beneath trees and shrubs, Crocus 'Flower Record' also makes a fabulous addition to containers and window boxes for a burst of colour when much of the garden is still dormant. This strong, robust variety is also ideal for naturalising in lawns. Bulb size 6/7. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 5cm (2").
