Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of around 18-21C (65-70F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. 1. Slow but steady

I had an olive tree that failed to survive last year’s harsh winter so I thought I would try to replace it from scratch. The seeds arrived very promptly. It states on the packet that they will take 1-4 months to germinate and that is certainly true – there were times when I wondered if I was just tending to some compost but after three and a half months I started to get some seedlings and by the end of the fourth month about a third of the packet had germinated. That’s not a great return but considering the prices of a plant I am satisfied. Certainly worth growing – just don’t expect a quick result!
