Often seen in natural hedgerows, Hawthorn is the perfect security hedging, its thorny braches form a dense thicket that is almost impossible to penetrate. Not only is the Hawthorn a great deterrent, it is a highly decorative shrub too, clusters of white flowes can cover it in late spring which later develop into bunches of bright red berries which are much sought after by birds. Supplied as 60 - 90 cm bareroots (24 - 35") Height: 8m (26'). Spread: 8m (26'). Planting distance: 30cm (12” ). (4 plants per metre for a single line hedge).

Grow Hawthorn hedges on reliably moist but well drained soil, incorporate planty of well rotted manure or compost along the line of the hedge before planting.
Water regularly until established, Apply a mulch in the first two winters to protect the roots and to give extra feed.
Due to local government restrictions, we are no longer able to supply this variety to the Channel Islands.

Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes etc are delivered at the appropriate time for planting and will be stated on the product page or in your order acknowledgement page and email.


Orders for packets of seed incur a P&P charge of £1.95.
Orders which include any other products will incur a P&P charge of £4.95.
Where an order includes both packets of seeds and other products a maximum P&P charge of £6.90 will apply - regardless of the number of items ordered.
