Viburnum plicatum f. plicatum 'Mary Milton' (Large Plant)

Hardy Shrub

Argueably one of the prettiest of all Viburnum plants, Viburnum plicatum f. plicatum 'Mary Milton' is a much sought after variety due to its beautiful colouring and easy to grow nature. From early spring when the first buds appear, this very hardy, deciduous shrub promises to delight you throughout the rest of the year. The leaves first appear with a reddish bronze cast to them and eventually mature to a deep green, forming the perfect setting for the wonderful blooms. The flowers emerge as green buds which slowly open to form blush pink "snowballs" of blooms which quickly cover the entire plant, time matures the clusters of flowers to bleached white before they finally fade and fall. A truly wonderful cycle of colour that we guarantee you cannot fail to love. Height: 300cm (118"). Spread: 200cm (78").

Grow Viburnum plants in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any moderately fertile, well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Viburnum shrubs at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Viburnum requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and reduce any stems that spoil the symmetry of the plant.
