Compact and spreading in its habit, Hydrangea paniculata 'White Diamonds First Edition' is both hardy and sturdy, making it ideal for both container planting and beds and borders alike. Purest white clusters of flowers in an unusual cone shape form in summer and stay on the plant through until Autumn, slowly changing colour to a dusky pink. Paniculate hydrangeas are very easy to grow, needing very little aftercare, rewarding you with an abundance of blooms with ease. Height: 120cm (47"). Spread: 150cm (59").

Hydrangea paniculata prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any non alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply.
Water regularly until plants are fully established. Leave the faded hydrangea flower heads in place until the new buds swell in spring to protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune after flowering, reducing the stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. If necessary, Hydrangea paniculata will tolerate hard pruning of the oldest stems to a few buds from ground level. This will also encourage larger flower heads to be produced. After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
