Plant gardenia in sheltered borders or containers in any well drained, rich fertile, neutral to acid soil. Choose a sheltered position in dappled or semi shade. Water regularly until gardenia plants are fully established. Where possible, use rainwater as the lime contained in tap water will reduce the soils acidity over time.
Feed hardy gardenia plants regularly throughout the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Whilst this variety of gardenia is perfectly hardy, it will appreciate some winter protection during particularly cold periods. In very cold climates, container-grown plants may be moved to a cool, frost-free position for the winter. In spring, lightly prune stems to maintain their shape.
Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes etc are delivered at the appropriate time for planting and will be stated on the product page or in your order acknowledgement page and email.
Orders for packets of seed incur a P&P charge of £1.95.
Orders which include any other products will incur a P&P charge of £4.95.
Where an order includes both packets of seeds and other products a maximum P&P charge of £6.90 will apply - regardless of the number of items ordered.

Gardenia Crown Jewels

Bought 2 plants and planted them in pots 4 months ago. It is now June and plant 1 looks like it was just delivered- not a single shoot from the day it arrived. Plant 2 has loads of shoots starting to appear so live in hope. I still can't see it being like the picture this year as long long way to go to get anywhere near that. Will give an update in 2025.

Got 2 plants and like other customers these were not cheap, had to nurture and revive them for a couple of weeks, anyway potted and both have died and I waited agates for these plants, got 1 daphne eternal fragrance and 1 Crown Jewels, so didn't even get original order, very, very upset
