Plant gardenia in sheltered borders or containers in any well drained, rich fertile, neutral to acid soil. Choose a sheltered position in dappled or semi shade. Water regularly until gardenia plants are fully established. Where possible, use rainwater as the lime contained in tap water will reduce the soils acidity over time.
Feed hardy gardenia plants regularly throughout the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Whilst this variety of gardenia is perfectly hardy, it will appreciate some winter protection during particularly cold periods. In very cold climates, container-grown plants may be moved to a cool, frost-free position for the winter. In spring, lightly prune stems to maintain their shape.

Sat all summer without good progress and died in the end. Maybe because it had some genetical desease- all leaves were deformed.

Very Very Disappoited

Ordered 4 plants and followed instructions for soil and used rain water too, and thought that I shall grow them indoors and when big enough shall plant them outdoors. Unfortunately, none of them survived they went yellow and brown and died. On complaining, T&M did replace these with new ones with buds last November. But again the plants were as if stunned. No growth at all. In summer I took them out and they just dried out. I think that this variety is not for our UK weather.
