When growing in containers use a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Although hardy to -5C (23F), Edgeworthia benefits from a sheltered position prevent frost damage to the flowers.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Once established, Edgeworthia plants require only occasional attention. Pruning Edgworthia is best kept to a minimum, removing only damaged stems and those that spoil the shape or symmetry of the plant in early spring.
