Repot dogwood plants into larger pots using a soil based compost such as John Innes No 3. Grow on until large enough to be planted into borders. When Cornus plants are well grown, transplant into any well drained soil in full sun.
Feed and water dogwoods regularly until fully established. Once established, they will require less attention. To encourage plenty of colourful stems, Dogwood will need regular pollarding in early spring. Cut back all dogwood stems to 3 buds above soil level or to a permanent low framework. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant after pruning. Caution: Dogwood berries are harmful if eaten. Irritant to skin and eyes.

This beautiful shrub has year round interest, lovely foliage and delicate flowers, and the winter colour of the new stems is a gorgeous addition. Highly recommended.
