Rose 'Hot Chocolate'

Rosa

  • Large flowered Hybrid tea
  • Fragrant floribunda
  • Unusual blooms
With the colours of a rich, indulgent hot chocolate drink this cracking rose is a bit different to the usual reds, pinks and yellows you see in your neighbours' gardens! The name alludes to the rusty orange blooms which open out to a rich smoky brown. While the colours will remind you of chocolate, the scent is rich and fruity as you would expect from a hybrid tea variety. With the disease resistance you’ve come to expect from modern roses, 'Hot Chocolate' repeat-flowers throughout the summer and early autumn, making it an economical and long lasting addition to borders. Use some of the flower stems as cut flowers for unique vase displays. Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 60cm (24").

  • This year's must-have bedding plant!
  • Compact and early flowering
  • Garden performance guaranteed

The world has been waiting for a summer-flowering yellow Cosmos, and here it is! Adding an exciting new colour to the Cosmos palette, Xanthos (meaning yellow in Greek) produces exceptional, branching plants with a heavy supply of 5cm (2") blooms from May right through to October. Keep on top of deadheading and new flowers will just keep coming.

Cosmos 'Xanthos' features soft ferny foliage, which quickly and easily fills space in the border, even before the yellow blooms appear! Unusually for Cosmos, 'Xanthos' look great in patio pots too! New on the scene Cosmos 'Xanthos' has already picked up a Fleuroselect Gold Award and evoked much customer comment in T&M's summer trial garden in 2015.

Use the classy blooms en masse for an elegant feel to your displays, if not, set them in combination with other annuals to complement pastel shades or contrast with hot colours. The stand-out flowers also make a great underplanting to shrubs and hedging. These compact cosmos plants are the perfect option for exposed gardens where taller varieties would be blown about by the wind. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 40cm (16").

Geranium 'Bug Off' Collection

Banish mosquitoes from your summer patio tables with this unique plant!

Nothing spoils a summer evening in the garden like an attack of marauding mosquitoes! Scented leaf geraniums go a long way in deterring these little biters, but these leafy plants often lack the visual impact needed around garden seating areas and patios.

We have the decorative answer with Geranium 'Mosquitaway'. Crossbreeding leafy geraniums and pretty Angel Geraniums has brought the best of both worlds to a unique duo of scented leaf geraniums with masses of lavish flowers. First is the dark flowered 'Eve', which is perfectly contrasted with the near opposite flowers of her paler sister 'Lizzy'. These dainty pelargonium plants look fantastic planted in combination in small table-top containers, where the pungent foliage will keep the mosquitoes away. Alternatively set them around the patio to banish the bugs. Easy to grow, and flowering non-stop too - order early and grow on in the greenhouse and these beautiful plants will bloom from April right though to October. Height: 40cm (16"). Spread: 25cm (10").

Calendula 'Power Daisy'

English Marigold, Marigold, Pot Marigold

  • In constant flower from June through to October
English pot marigolds are a garden favourite - vibrant colours, heavy flowering and great for pollinators. Sadly they don't last long, often burning out and going to seed at the height of summer. Our 'Power Daisy' changes that! Not only does it flower continuously into October, living up to its name this breeding breakthrough allows you to use calendula plants where you've never grown them before! A controlled, spreading habit, plus hundreds of yellow daisy-like blooms make them the perfect new hanging basket plant. With little need for deadheading (the flowers just keep coming without setting seed), utilise the spreading habit in patio pots and as ground cover in the border for a mass of golden colour all summer long. Height and spread 40cm (16").

Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. For more details about edible flowers click here.
