Hellebore 'Black Swan'

  • New in 2015
  • T&M Exclusive
  • Grow the most prestigious Christmas Rose in your garden
Hellebores are true garden gems during the winter months; producing luxuriant flowers during the coldest months of the year when little else is in growth, let alone in flower!

We run our own unique hellebore breeding programme at our Suffolk trial grounds. New for 2015, we are excited to release our regal-looking 'Black Swan' - a vast improvement on older black-flowered forms. Holding its jet-black blooms up for all to see, it's as if 'Black Swan' knows what a beauty it is compared to older types, many of which tend to present their flowers to the soil below!

We believe we've hit on the perfect form and habit with Hellebore 'Black Swan' - neat foliage growth that runs right through summer, a double layer of sumptuously velvety petals, starkly contrasted by the pure white stamens in winter. This classy performer deserves a place in every garden as the star winter attraction.

Weigela florida 'Monet' (Large Plant)

  • New in 2015

A naturally mounding, deciduous shrub that is perfect for the front of a sunny border. Easy to grow and drought tolerant too once settled in, 'Monet' is admired as much for its pretty cream-margined foliage as the dense flush of spring/summer soft-pink flowers. Also makes a beautiful addition to patio container displays.

Brunnera macrophylla 'Jack Frost' (Large Plant)

Siberian Bugloss

  • New in 2015

Another early-performing perennial. Forget-me-not-like flowers appear early in the season, but it is the spreading habit and large heart-shaped silver leaves, veined and edged with green, that make this a sought after ground cover plant for use in mixed borders, under trees and as an unusual addition to patio containers.

Rudbeckia Sonnenhut fulgida 'Early Bird Gold' (Large Plant)

Coneflower, Black-eyed Susan

  • New in 2015

Rudbeckia are known for their autumn flowering but a breakthrough in breeding means 'Early Bird Gold' starts flowering two months earlier than the parent plants, carrying on right through to the first hard frosts. Get more 'bloom for your buck' with this long-season rudbeckia. This easy to grow perennial needs no support in the border and will stand tall in containers too.
