When yellow-grey catkins appear on the naked weeping branches of this Kilmarnock Willow, it's a sure sign that spring has arrived in your garden. Salix caprea 'Kilmarnock' is a deciduous small tree that makes a fabulous architectural specimen. The weeping branches form a dense, rounded dome that remains compact over many years. The green summer foliage turns to gold in autumn, before leaving the stems bare once more, revealing a striking winter silhouette. Kilmarnock Willow is ideal for adding interest to rockeries, borders and patio containers. It makes a useful small tree for a wildlife area, where it provides early nectar for insects. Height and spread: 2.5m (98").

Grow Salix in a sunny or partially shaded position, in any well drained soil.
More Info Feed and water regularly until fully established. Kilmarnock Willows need little maintenance. If necessary, prune out dead or old wood in late winter or spring.
