Ceanothus 'Marie Bleu' forms a neat rounded specimen that is covered with a haze of lilac blue flowers from July to September. The glossy green, deciduous foliage cloaks this well branched variety throughout summer, forming good ground cover or low hedging. The flowers of Ceanothus 'Marie Bleu' are followed by attractive red seed capsules that extend the season of interest well into autumn. With its long flowering period and compact habit, this deciduous shrub is ideal for cottage gardens, rockeries and wildlife gardens where it will attract pollinating insects. Height and spread: 90cm (36").

Plant Californian Lilac into any fertile, well-drained soil. Choose a position in full sun with shelter from cold, drying winds. Ceanothus may be grown as a free standing specimen or trained against a wall or fence.
More Info During spring each year, trim back the previous year’s flowered stems to within 2 or 3 buds of the woody framework.
