This reliable Mexican Orange Blossom is easy to grow, with a neat, compact habit that requires virtually no maintenance - perfect for beginner gardeners and enthusiasts alike. Choisya ternata plants are also very tolerant of difficult growing conditions, including coastal gardens. This RHS AGM variety is ideal for adding a splash of year-round colour to mixed borders. Height and spread: 2.5m (8').

How to Grow

Plant Mexican Orange Blossom in any well drained soil in full sun, with shelter from strong winds. Partial shade is tolerated but foliage will be less golden in this situation. Alternatively grow Choisya in patio containers filled with loam-based compost such as John Innes No.3.

Water regularly throughout the growing season until Choisya plants are well established. Mexican Orange Blossom requires little attention, but benefits from a trim each year to keep it neat and tidy. After flowering, trim or lightly cut back shoots to a healthy pair of buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant in spring.
