Flowering Months

With larger than normal blooms of other Mock Orange plants, Philadelphus 'Starbright' is covered with these fragrant, large flowers in early summer. Spring also brings purple tinged new growth which quickly develops into the classic vibrant green foliage which helps to make the flowers really stand out. A medium sized, hardy deciduous shrub, 'Starbright' can be used as a specimen plant or incorporated easily into a larger mixed display. Height: 250cm (98"). Spread: 200cm (79").

How to Grow

Grow Philadelphus plants in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Mock Orange plants at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.

Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Philadelphus requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
